Top Gun Maverick will be going on release at the end of the month, so the PR machine has upped its pace considerably. The press tour is kicking off this week with the movie’s main stars doing a thing from the deck of the USS Midway tomorrow night from 1130pm onwards:
I’m not sure how many European or Irish fans are going to stay up to watch that, though I’m sure some will!
In the meantime, however, it’s been revealed that Lady Gaga is providing one of the main songs for the film’s soundtrack:
Lady Gaga’s “Hold my Hand” was released late last night and has, so far, garnered positive feedback. The rest of the film’s soundtrack has, so far, been kept under wraps, though it was previously announced that Harold Faltermeyer would be joined by Hans Zimmer. The soundtrack to the original film went on to win an Oscar and topped charts, whether the new one will or not remains to be seen. Top Gun Maverick’s release has been delayed by two years so both Tom Cruise and the studio are going to be impatient to see how their creation performs at the box office. (Bear in mind that while overall cinema box office takes might be down the most recent Spider-Man brought in well over a billion)
